PhD at University of KIMEP is an opportunity to work closely with the best academicians of the field, who have deep background in practical application, especially in transition economies. The theme of my research interest is an establishment of banking industry in transitional economies in aspect of regulation, ownership structure and bank specific determinants. I found it very convenient that the faculty members were able to share their personal practical and theoretical experience with me. It was important that professors had this background as I was planning to approach the problem in a similar way. Working in the financial market, my plan was to examine whether the theoretical understanding of the market fits the real one.
