Back to 2018, my decision to become a PhD student was made under such a background: Firstly, I have twenty years of work experience including ten years of entrepreneurship. The business practice entails the continuous study for my further self-improvement. Secondly, I have already got my bachelor and master degrees in oil and gas technology, as well as MBA and finance trainings in business area. I was always aiming for the peak of PhD degree. Thirdly, I desired to integrate my partitioning experience with my academic path so that I could contribute more to the business community by learning and sharing. I wanted to tap my academic potential. Fourthly, KIMEP is a prestigious university. As a result, I luckily became the first foreign (Chinese) PhD student (part-time) of the first PhD generation in KIMEP’s history.

The PhD journey at KIMEP is not only challenging and stressful, but also exciting and enjoyable. I nearly spent all of my spare time on study and research during the entire process. No doubt, my passion is largely due to the strengths KIMEP is endowed with.
