Undergraduate Study at KIMEP
Undergraduate Programs are designed for school leavers. All KIMEP's undergraduate degree programs are based on the credit system. One major advantage of this is flexibility, as it allows you to tailor your study to match your own specific interests and career ambitions. The credit system also allows you to study at your own pace. For example, while an undergraduate program would normally take four years to complete, you can take longer to complete your studies should you need to.
The scope of the undergraduate curriculum at KIMEP is broad. Of the 129 credits required for graduation from each of our undergraduate programs, 48 credits develop the math, science, critical thinking and writing skills necessary for career success. You will also gain extensive knowledge in your chosen major field, and have the chance to take free electives selected to reflect your personal interests.
Undergraduate students are encouraged to choose both a major and a minor, which can be chosen from any department or college. In many programs you can also choose to graduate without a specialization, which will allow you even more freedom in the selection of elective courses and open up a wider range of employment opportunities upon graduation.
All undergraduate programs at KIMEP require their students to take an internship as an integral part of their studies. Taking an internship will allow you to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to real-life situations, ensuring that your education has a solid practical base and giving you valuable work experience before you even graduate. An internship also allows you to network and build contacts with potential future employers.
All undergraduate students at KIMEP are supported by dedicated advising centers at the college and KIMEP level, whose staff can assist them in making important choices related to their program of study and future career.
