Intellectual Debate Club

Intellectual Debate Club of KIMEP (IDC KIMEP) – a student organization which is valid on the terriotory of KIMEP university. Founded in 2004. The organization organizes debate games, academic lectures, and tournaments. The purpose is developing oratory skills, communicating skills, and critical thinking of the club’s members.

Offer debate activities which improve critical thinking, empowerment, research skills, ethical argumentation, advocacy, analysis, persuasion, oral presentation, listening, organization, teamwork, group problem solving, citizenship, and leadership.

Legal Clinic

KIMEP Legal Clinic is a student academic organization founded in 2012. We unite the university community and legal professionals to increase the level of legal literacy. Legal Clinic has three main directions of activities: Academic Internship, the project Ask a Lawyer and the Legal Clinic as a student organization. In the framework of Legal Clinic activities we conduct clubs on a regular basis (Legal Movie Discussion Club and Book Club), organize the panel and open discussions, workshops, and master classes on law-related topics. During the Fall 2021 semester we conducted the first offline event in two years – Central Asia Talks, where we touched upon the modern challenges of Central Asia region. During the EcoMonth KIMEP Legal Clinic went on a hike and conducted an EcoPrinting master class. Soon we are launching the first social project of KIMEP Law School – the School of Legal Literacy for non-lawyers, which is the one-month long school with the best legal practitioners. Join us for events, learn about law, and have fun!

Jarqyn.me KIMEP

KIMEP.Peer

KIMEP-PEER is a youth peer education network, an international network comprising national networks in more than 50 countries, promoting healthy lifestyles through a peer-to-peer approach and aiming to empower young people to make responsible decisions for their health.

KIMEP.PEER was opened with the support of an international volunteer network funded by UNFPA. We are the first organization in KIMEP that raises such important social issues and educate students on topics of gender inequality, sexual and gender minorities, reproductive health and rights, bullying, abuse and healthy lifestyle. We educate KIMEP students about the most relevant diverse world problems and give them the opportunity to make a difference.

Entrepreneurship Club

Organizing KIMEP Business Incubator with BCB, industrial meetings, closed events, mentorship program, and outdoor meetings with local and international businessmen and businesswomen,Entrepreneurship Club (EC) aims to serve as a platform for KIMEP students to learn entrepreneurial skills that will help them to launch business and social projects.
The EC will unite those students of KIMEP who strive to open and run their own businesses, as well as those who already have their businesses and need to upgrade or share the experience.

Google Developers Student Club

Google Developers Student Club is a student club that gives the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of different spheres of Information Technology and Systems to KIMEP students.

KIMEP TALKS

KMEP Talks is a student organization that provides students with an opportunity to improve their public speaking skills, provides them with a platform, where they can discuss their ideas with like-minded people, and delivers them to a broad audience. KELT is one of the oldest KIMEP student organizations, founded in 2001 that produces high-quality theater in English. Valkyrie

Valkyrie is the first women’s American flag football team in Almaty. It was created to inspire students, especially girls to try something new, since this sport has recently begun to develop in Kazakhstan. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club was founded to develop the physical health and skills of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (hereinafter referred to as BJJ) among students and staff of KIMEP University. Being the safest and one of the most effective and inclusive martial arts, BJJ has gained enormous recognition in the world in recent decades and remains extremely popular on the world scale. Our club will be the honorary representative of our university, participating and holding competitions in the discipline at the highest level. In addition, our club activity will help our students to gain necessary skills for self-defense.

Our club strives to instill in our members a sense of discipline, camaraderie, respect and teach BJJ skills that will help them develop physical attributes such as flexibility, agility, coordination and strength. We are committed to creating an inclusive and effective platform for those who want to learn how to protect themselves in case of emergency. Also, our club strives to organize important events at our university, such as tournaments and master classes from the most respected and skilled masters of this sport.
