On January 13, 2017 the Department of International Academic Mobility (DIAM) of KIMEP University together with the Dormitory, Medical Center, and Visa Office organized an orientation session for new coming international students. The main purpose of the session was to introduce all students to the various KIMEP departments and their key operating principles, as well as and to provide some important tips and useful resources.
The DIAM Team presented its activities and trips plan for the coming semester. The role of the Buddy International Students (BIS) was also explained – this team is created to help international students from the very beginning of the semester with different affairs – medical check ups, bank visits, buying SIM cards and many other things the newcomers might need a hand with.
Aizhan Akhmetova, DIAM program coordinator introduced all students to each other and asked them about their main expectations to the exchange program. It turned out that about 60% of students would prefer travelling experiences around the country, and about 30% – team buildings and various university activities.
