One more academic year and it’s time to greet new coming internationals student from all part of the world. For the Department of International Academic Mobility (DIAM) its amazing time to meet new people, welcome them, help to easily adopt and involve to the daily lifestyle of locals. This time DIAM and Buddy of International Students (BIS) organized an event on September 8, 2017. Student organizations prepared an interesting program with useful information about their main purpose and activities towards students. Elmira Suleimanova, Director of DIAM had a welcoming speech with a small tradition to introduce the number countries representatives and wishes for coming semester and study years.
Program continues with introduction of Kazakhstan, interesting facts, traditions and customs, instruments, natural heritage and many other things. Students invited local players of “Dombra” national instrument of Kazakhs, who amazingly shows a talent of performing songs to foreign guests. By the instrumental play BIS Team prepared a show with performance of tradition “Betashar” (opening a face to new bride). The most interesting part of the event was dancing of “Karazhorga” and invitation of all to join and try how locals dancing it during national holidays.
To conclude the event, everyone were invited for reception to try a local cuisine, to take a traditional group picture and have fun while networking with all.
