Did you know that one of the main traits of Singapore people is their love to create queues? Singaporeans are so accustomed to do it – they are ready to create a line no matter what the event is about. One more fact: Singapore equally uses the following languages: English, Malayan, Chinese, Tamil and “Singlish” – the Singapore kind of English.
At the event titled “Country day: Singapore» organized by the Department of International Academic Mobility, students of Singapore Management University, being our university’s international partner, arranged some snacks and shared the interesting an unique information about their country with the guests. Students told about Singapore’s history, drew several comparisons and parallels between Singapore and Almaty, disclosed some facts about sports and culture, about their country’s population and its languages and way of life. Also our students Shu Le Han, Kokchen Teo, Vaishnavi Naidu and Benjamin Tho treated the guests with one of the most delicious dessert of Singapore cuisine – batter-fried bananas. Also as a part of the event it was a presentation of Zulfiya Urunova, who were studied at the Varna Univresity of Management, Bulgaria.
Our community got an excellent opportunity to ask the speakers about their university, way of life, and in general – to enjoy communicating with international students.
