Every semester the student organization BIS (Buddies for International Students) and the International Office organize Welcome party for new international and exchange students. This academic year international newcomers also started their student experience with this wonderful event, where they had an opportunity to meet new people, get acquainted with different cultures, try traditional cuisine and have fun.
On Friday, September 13, 2019 Fall 2019 Welcome Party took place in front of the International Office. The event had the special show program in order to introduce cultural elements of Central Asia, such as clothing, dances, traditions and food, to foreigners.
It included defile of international students from 5 Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan) in their national clothing, presentations of these countries by their representatives, flash-mob with national dances, Uzbek and Turkmen traditional games. After official part of the event all international and exchange students could taste Central Asia through its traditional cuisine.
During two hours our international newcomers enjoyed entertaining show, warm atmosphere, friendly company and of course delicious food.
