On 3 December 2016, Dr. Sergey Sayapin attended a round table entitled “The Role of International Law and International Organisations in Strengthening the Statehood and International Standing of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
The round table was co-organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Legislation under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and KAZGUU University, and was attended by some of the Republic of Kazakhstan´s international lawyers, students and journalists.
The participants discussed some current challenges to international law, the role of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the maintenance of international and regional peace and security, and cooperation between Kazakhstan´s national authorities and academic circles.
Dr. Sayapin delivered a presentation on the Republic of Kazakhstan´s contribution to the development of international legal order, and moderated a session. He made a number of proposals aimed at the development of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and international lawyers.
