Mariyam is a professional with over 10 years of direct investment and equity research experience in the emerging markets. In her most recent role, she has been investing in early stage fintech companies and in more established financial institutions globally and in Southeast Asia, in particular. She works in IFC’s Global Financial Institutions Group and since joining the institution was based in Washington DC and Singapore. In Kazakhstan, Mariyam held various positions at EBRD, Halyk Finance and Citibank. She is a CFA charterholder (2014), and has an MBA from Kellogg School of Management (2017), a Master of Accounting degree from Stephen M. Ross School of Business (2010) and a Bachelor of Science degree from KIMEP university (2007).
