On 15 – 17 April 2016, a team of eight KIMEP students enrolled in Dr. Sergey Sayapin’s public international law course participated in a Model United Nations organised by the Turan University (Almaty, Kazakhstan).

Model United Nations is an exercise in international relations and law, whereby participants replicate the activities of selected organs of the United Nations, in accordance with a simplified procedure. Model United Nations trainings are organised throughout the world with a view to introducing young people to the United Nations, and to making them aware of current issues of international concern.

KIMEP students were assigned to a number of committees and were requested to produce resolutions dealing with the maintenance of international peace and security, human dimension, combating crimes under international law, youth empowerment, and other other significant issues.

All team members received Certificates of participation, whereas Karina Mukanova and Fakhriddin Pulathanov were awarded Best Delegate Certificates for their performance in respective committees.

KIMEP School of Law expresses its sincere thanks to the Turan University for the organisation of this remarkable event, and congratulates all participants and winners on their success.
